Hob Installation

I really suppose it is personal preference .

Personally I would prefer the larger rings at the front purely from the fact stirring a large pan of food requires more effort and if the pan was at the back it wold be more strenous to do so and to see the pans contents as you stirred.

Not to mention having to reach over any smaller pans on the front rings if they were being used.

Not to mention a large pan on a back ring often means trouble as the wall behind the cooker can often stop a pan from being centred on the ring.

The only gripe I would have is that being right handed I would find it awkward to have the dials on the left.

My 7 month old Bosch Induction hob is absolutely perfect in that the largest ring is at the front next to a medium sized and those two I use for everday cooking for the two of us as it invariably means a large pan for boiling various forms of starchy foods and a medium pan for vegetables OR the large one for sauteing or frying foods and again the smaller one for accompanying vegetables.

The medium and small rings at the back of the hob are often ideal for keeping warm or gentle heating of foods that dont require much attention and thus strain.

Creda Hob

The Creda hob is installed correctly as can be seen from the third picture showing how the hob could be raised for cleaning. About 33 years ago I had a hob (not Creda) with the controls on the left and, although I am right handed, it was not too much of a problem once you got used to it.
