Combo Crisis!

So picture this - it is the last day of a short vacation break that has been wonderfully relaxing; you've just finished brunch where you served the best batch of waffles you've ever made; you go to pop the dirty dishes into your fabulous vintage GE dishwasher and you step in a puddle of water...
I freaked. I thought that the patched-up drain sump of the 56 pull-out had given up on me. I took the front off the dishwasher and investigated, but found nothing... I checked supply and drain pipes - nothing! I mopped up the water and in about 20 minutes, another puddle had accumulated. So, I checked the ungodly mess of pipes under the sink. Everything seemed fine until I noticed a drip on the right bottom corner of the 562N1 combo...

and there it was...

The hot water connection was the culprit... I tried to preserve the original copper supply pipes that came with the unit, but I noticed that when I took it apart and when I put it back together that the screw fitting never seemed to line up evenly. The photo shows what it looked like after I tried to tighten it up. Still not even...

So, the combo is going to have to come out... eventually

And I will replace the original copper supply pipes with flexible ones.
I am not rushing, though. Why, you ask??
'Cause I finally found a cycling thermostat for the dryer!!!
I can't believe that I got one from Modern Parts in Ohio...
So, I must once again say THANK YOU!!! to gansky1 and soberleaf for sharing this place with all of us. I may still need some wiring diagram information, but gentlemen, the GE combo is yet another step closer to coming back to life fully!!
