Just received my Consumer Reports in the mail today. It has an article about old appliances. Picture of the owner with their old working appliance and story. Nice read!
But do keep in mind CR is copyrighted material, and pages aren't normally available online unless one is a member of CR, or subscribes to their magazine <br
Just a word in your shell like ear, since many pages from the group are trolled by search engines like Google, and stored within their archives <br

I saw this at the Orthodontist's office this morning. A good laugh at the 1960 KA dishwasher, her daughter is on her third dishwasher and one of the reasons for it's longevity is that she rinses everything <br
I suspected the story behind the Kenmore dryer didn't begin in 1954 and was more sentimental legend than hard fact.
Yup I'm gonna have to delete scans those because we could get in trouble from CR since they are recently published. It's one thing to scan 45 year old CR issues, its another to scan brand new ones.
I think CR should compare new appliances with the best of the old with every rating. For example, how would the 74 Maytag washer compare with today's? (I think I know the answer!)
