There's too much concept there for me <br
If I saw a real one, I wouldn't know what the heck it was <br

Looks like an ad for a Virtual Cooking Experience. You pretend to cook and the machine emits synthesized cooking aromas. Can you eat the virtual food?

Oh Lord..
why did I go to design school... why <br
Somebody please shoot my hea <br
As a designer I feel so ashamed of my profession when I see idiots spending thousands of millions of dollars to create those dumb concepts <br <br <br
Designers around the World, pleeeeeeease use your brains, your knowledge and the technical resources to design useful concepts. If you want to make something "wierd", at least make something useful like the Trilobite.
The Trilobite robot vaccum cleaner exists thanks to one of those "wierd" concepts, but it was a real concept that if approved, could be made in the real world <br <br
worst than that was the ridiculous dishwasher that "washes" (does it?!?!) using air or the washing machine that washes using grass <br
what comes next? an oven that discovers what you ate on your last meal after you fart in front of it's sensor and automatically choose and prepares your next meal based on the nutrients you didn't eat before <br <br
The Electrolux's Design Lab competition should be called Electrolux's Design Crap <br <br
something to think: a dishwasher that the operator doesn't need to "play a puzzle" to load all the items on the right place. wouldn't be wonderful if one could just place a pile of dishes in the machine and then the machine loads the racks by itself

It actually reminds me of animated solid modeling software (like Solidworks), which is great for virtual fabrication. Not that it's technically possible to do any of what is envisioned. But in some respects the microwave oven manages to do some of what is shown, at least in terms of quick food prep <br
It's a fantasy, of course, but sometimes dreams lead to interesting, even useful inventions <br <br

actually it is a good point...

Can I please have an appliance that is NOT stuffed with microchips, but have good performance and run efficiently and have things like self cleaning ovens and stuff? Old stoves are great - but I hate to clean ovens.

(Though I have to say the BEST stove I think I've ever used I bought for $15, it was a 24 inch apartment sized electric stove. And it had an electric outlet in it which I truly, truly loved since i used to set my electric percolator and toaster on teh range top).
