Cooktop advice 12,000 vs. 15,000 BTU

PassatDoc, That is pretty much what I would like, full grates, but unfortunately I'm limited to a cooktop, too bad no one makes one with that option, though the Sieman's I linked come close.

I've narrowed it down to 3 units, the Thermador, the GE, and the Jenn-Air, unless I come across something outstanding. This Siemans on ebay that looks interesting, but I question the layout. Take a look...

No, not at. all. Mine was an almond glass top, with a greenish-tan set of grates. Burners were arranged is a sort of arc. Other than that the igniter issue the caps of the burners were getting worn, and the cost for those was over $300 for the set. No way...

Anyway I've pretty much decided on the Siemans 30", going to order it tomorrow.

Only four burners, but it has the simmer right rear, high power (17k) right front. Left front is also high power (14K)

Hmmm, every time I think I get close to a decision i came across something else.

Does anyone know anything about the Italian brand Fulgor? Came across a deal on a cooktop and oven, but know nothing about the brand.

Pressure Cookers work great, I was given two for a Christmas present. The seals are the same as the SILIT pressure cookers use for their modern series, so that is not a problem.

Isn't the other brand one of those obscenely expensive and phenomenally good Italian private brands? Sort of like Alessi on Steriods?

I love Italian design, especially in the kitchen, but, gosh, the prices are out of this world. There's a reason "Diva" is an Italian word...

Bosch = Siemans on many things, it would seem, at least for their washers and their cooktops...

That 30" Siemans/Bosch looks like a good solution for you. I also like the look of their 36" units.

It's Fulgor. Had a separate thread on it. Got busy with other things, put this on the back burner so to speak. Decided on the Bosh/Seimens, looks like a good fit for my needs.
