The neighbors across the street had both the washer and dryer in Avocado...
Just for the dryer to be accompanied by a decontinented Whirlpool, then it be replaced by a White-Westinghouse dryer that was paired with a series of Whirlpools, one, after the other, until finally a Whirlpool dryer to be placed with the final Whirlpool washer (& a matched set, despite being about a year apart!)...
A lot of line-drying must have contributed to any one dryer's longevity, vs. a family of five (one member, deceased, another, married & gone) reducing it to three, still needing a new washer that frequently, even so...
Then, a discarded white washer like that one, placed on its side, with the top of it removed & plopped next to it, seen decades later...
Maybe the relatives in Ohio, whose house we'd used to go to that had the similar floor plan ours had, plus a bedroom door leading to the basement stairs, had this set, also in Copper, to accompany the Copper kitchen appliances, (one a RotoRack Kenmore dishwasher, like the other neighbors across the street) I can only imagine or just visualize...
