COPPERTONE LADY SET FOUND

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

You hit a grand slam, Jim!

1st base- Lady Kenmore
2nd base- Coppertone
3rd base- Roto flex
and the Slam--SUDS RETURN YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAY--ALL THE WAY HOME !!!

The roto flex is so rare and elusive; no one would part with it, but if someone would loan it out for a week, --we still don't know which members have one--I could make a video showing its action from an empty tub all the way to full, using the Visi-matic, with the roto constantly flexing through out the whole fill

Congratulations, Frigman Jim. You and Lou will be so happy. It's a dream machine for me too. I once rented a place called the Fleckenschteen with an Avacado Lady, but yours is the VERY FIRST machine I've seen with a suds-return. Never knew they made them. So lucky. Good for you.

Great Set

I used this machine for a year 1993/1994. It was in a house I rented when I returned to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo after completing my Ph.D.

Great machine with a great sound. With really big loads it started slowly and eventually got up to speed during the wash.

It was one of my favorite machines to have ever used.

1966-67 Coppertone Lady Kenmore Washer & Dryer Set

"Fridgiman"

Congrats on a wonderful find. That is a beautiful LK set. The "coppertone" color makes them looks just elegant. My great aunt on my father's side (my grandmother's sister) had that EXACT washer (only hers was white) from either 1966 or 1967 until it finally gave out in the mid 1980's. I even had the priviledge of using it a couple of times when she did have it. The push buttons and click-stop dial system invited creativity. But now, if that machine would've had the Vari-Flex agitator just like the 1969-73 Ladys did, then the cycles you could create with that thing would've been limitless (that is, if you combine a Vari-Flex agitator with a 3 speed motor and a 10 cycle base selection).

Speeds, water temperatures and cycle times were automatically selected by the machine after you chose the cycle and any options. And that thing was quiet like a Maytag too.

Loved that machine....... too bad my parents couldn't afford one back then.

Fridgiman, let us know when you have those beauties up and running. That's one of my dream sets too.
