While Cathy decided what to do with a Robinson-May gift card, I prowled the kitchen department and noticed a disturbing change in CorningWare.
I don't have to tell anyone here that real CorningWare is a vitreous material more like glass than, say, oh, stoneware. The newest assortments on the shelf bear a tiny notice:
Dishes made of stoneware.
Even worse, they're made in China, just like any other inexpensive stoneware cookware, but the price hasn't gone down to reflect the change in composition or country of manufacture.
Take care of the CorningWare you have. You won't be able to replace it if you break it.
