Correct dose of HE detergent based on sudsing

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

The German consumer magazine Warentest BTW evaluates the efficiency of dish soap by sudsing.
Not to be confused with cleaning ability which is evaluated by a wipe test after a soak and of course dish soap is not laundry detergent, but still.
If the absence of suds is a clear indicator for the professionals to tell that all detergency (of a sudsy detergent) is used up or not why would I question this old wisdom when washing clothes? As long as I don`t use something like Rosalie`s of course. On the other hand, Glenn I think you`re right about that the presence of suds alone does not necessarily mean there is enough detergent because suds don`t tell if you`ve overcome water hardness, minerals from sweat and so on.
That`s because most man made surfactants don`t react with calcium or other minerals like soap does.[this post was last edited: 7/10/2024-11:03]
