I don't know that we've done one of these. If we have, I missed it. Yesterday morning my kitchen sink stopped up so I decided to use the Countertop dishwasher that I have in my utility room. These things run as long as most modern dishwashers. They heat the water, have a rinse aid dispenser, etc. It runs a while but does a really nice job. I have used this many times as an overflow with some very dirty dishes and they have always come out clean.

I wouldn't want one as a primary but for someone who doesn't have room this is a great alternative.

This is like a real dishwasher.

When I was growing up, we used to have the Whirl-o-way dishwasher.

No electricity, just connect it to the kitchen faucet, and push the machine slightly over the sink. The water was draining as it washes. Which means the water spraying the dishes was always clean and fresh. The longer you ran that thing, the more water you used.
It did an ok job. Better than washing by hand, and fun to watch.

I have the edgestar version of the Koldfront.

It got me by for a few years and I still have it. Its a great little unit, only mine doesn't heat the water. The only thing I wished it had was a top rinse/spray.

I bought my sister

a Danby conter top dishwasher two years ago. She has fibromyalgia and unable to stand for long periods to do the dishes, and her apartment was too small for a regular portable. The little Danby fits the need perfectly.

This one has a manual clean filter, heats the water, and does everything a full sized machine can. For just one person it works out great,
