At least you got a reply from the seller. More than we both can say for that GE W/D set that was posted on CL a month ago. I replied many times from different addresses with no response at all. If it was because they had already sold them so be it.

But what didn't make sense was that while Im telling them I want them and can come anytime to get them Im not only not getting a reply from them but they're continuing to post new ads for them. I looked just last week and all three ads are still there.

I am thinking of asking Jackie to contact this person if she's in the area and see if she can snag  the dishwasher for me, but this person has proven to be uncooperative, thick and, most irritating of all and the point of this thread, all delivered with the arrogance and hypocrisy of that smarmy quotation that is the antithesis of the spirit of the sender. My better brain is telling me to let this one go because the seller is going to be a pill every step of the way.

 

Almost as bad are the eBay sellers that include the little la-di-da religious devotional cards with the invoice.

Quite Honestly

As our parents are want to say, sometimes we have to listen to what they little voices are saying.

Have usually found when something starts off badly it is a good indication no good will come of it in the long run.

The dishwasher isn't exactly being given away and you are purchasing the thing sight unseen. You have nothing but the seller's word the thing is operational and that it why you are seeing is what you'll get. If the seller isn't willing to even entertain playing ball what happens if you mail payment and they decide to go away for several weeks?

Using Jackie is a good idea but IIRC she is often on a schedule that can change and or had certain promised deadlines to meet.

Who is going to properly crate/prepare this dishwasher for a cross country trip? Seems highly unlikely thus far the seller is going to go down that road. They seem to want someone who will arrive hand over cash and take the thing away, period.

Would suggest U-ship but prices there have been getting very dear lately and again you still need to arrange payment.

If the worse comes to the worse you can always scan last minute flights to Oregon for a deal. But not sure about bringing a dishwasher back even as check in cargo. *LOL*

Gantza. You end the word without the "eh" sound for feminine nouns or the "er" for masculine nouns and your mouth would snap shut and you couldn't get the next word out.
