This is my half Norge half Maytag washer with a Crosley logo on it.The owner says they bought it in 1992 and the transmission went out in 2001 and since it had a 20 year warranty on the transmission they got it fixed.

I've never seen one of these in Crosley clothing, although Greg alluded to it in our other thread about Norge branding. The dials are exactly like our Montgomery Ward unit--very nice! Lovely washer, and a lovely performer!

also, is this the same as te Maytag Atlantis with the Dual-Drive tranny....
nice looking machine......but it sorta looses the burpilator effect or recirculating filter drama....
and we still wanna see a video of it in action at different cycles and water levels....

This washer was Made in 1992 so it still has a metal tub, i know in 1994 these washers switched to plastic tubs. In 1997 or so they changed the transmission design for the Maytag Performa PAV1000 but it still had the same agitator as mine, then after the PAV1000 maytag shortened the drive shaft and made the dual action agitator thus making the transmission 10x less reliable because when they shortened the drive shaft (so i think it is called) they also made the agitation strokes faster somehow (Maybe they made faster motors). I know that my Crosley has a Norge built transmission though because the Norge signature 2000 has the same transmission as mine.I dont know what year they made the jenn air washers (Before or after they changed the transmission design) but i do know they made plastic tub jenn-airs almost the same as mine. I am uploading more vids of the washer as we speak.

METAL TUB ?
The outer tub is plastic and most of the wash baskets that were metal at this time were not even porcelain coated but just epoxy painted. I don't think that any other manufacturer ever stooped that low. But it is an interesting machine that washes very well.

Wasn't this the twin of the Magic Chef that sent Kenmore home crying in the 1991/1992 Consumer Reports capacity ratings? I remember reading that and being floored, having assumed that the mighty Dual-Action agitator reigned supreme.
I also enjoyed the cover page of that issue, showing the Franklin Frigidaire Elite with its glam control panel, and two-T-shirts-and-a-sock capacity.
I think these are nice machines; the plastic outer tub was a natural progression for most platforms. That painted tub was inexcusable, though--I've seen some of these where the coating comes off in strips. That not withstanding, it's a cool machine, even minus the vorpulation

I am next door practically in Maine and the only Crosley products we had here that I can ever recall across the border was the Shelvador. I did have a chest freezer once labeled Crosley Shelvador, supposidly made my Maytag. When I was real small, my parents did have a Crosley Shelvador refrigerator that died on Christmas Eve one year and they replaced it with a Westinghouse. As far as Washers, never saw one. My father came from New Brunswick and he did like Crosleys but there were no dealers around here so he switched to Sears.

Well i dont know about the appliance stores in Maine but i see allot of Crosley deep freezes and washers here in this town, most on the side of the road sadly.Im not sure but i think these were sold from sears because one day i went on sears parts-direct or whatever its called and i was just curious to see if there was any parts left for this washer and there was.i know my gram got her Crosley washer from a local appliance store called Kelson's electric or something back in 1986. In 2005 the water level switch went in her Crosley so she threw it to the dump....

Im not sure, but i do know that my washer is labeled 'Heavy duty 20 pound capacity' and I know from doing laundry in my grams roper/Kenmore washer that hers is much smaller capacity than mine, pretty sure hers is like 14 pound capacity or something close to that.I know when i usto have my Magic chef branded 20 pound capacity washer that it came with a pamphlet when i bought it new about how much it could fit and i was amazed, although i never plugged it that full the motor went in it this summer and its 2 years newer than the my current Crosley branded machine, hope nothing goes wrong with the motor in this washer!

I was even alive then, but if you'd asked me to name appliance brands I wouldn't have come up with Crosley. Not that I never heard of them, but it's been too long.
