I had a Norge washer which we bought new in 1984, proved to be VERY RELIABLE, lasted me almost 17 years, a family of 5 doing laundry every day, with no repair until the transmission started to leak oil. Model was LWA9120 top of the line burpolator model, and it was probably one of the best machines we ever had. My Mom had one also which was a bit newer than mine purchased later in the 80's (by that time burpolator was gone), she had it for 21 years with my siblings bringing their laundry to Mom's house, never had a repair. When she moved, she gave the set to a needy family and it was still running fine. My mother in law bought one in mid 90's that was Norge throught Montgomery Ward, then this machine passed to my sister in law who had 5 kids, and the machine lasted 20 years until their house burned down, no repairs, so in our experience, some very reliable machines. I wish I had kept mine, which had all chrome panel on top, didn't realize they would go out and the machine would eventually be a collectors item, it was in MINT condition outside other than the oil leaking from transmission.
