Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Doesn't anyone listen to me and just come out with the U

.......with a movable hot-leg that can switch the machine to 120v in a pinch.

Similar perhaps GE electric dryers of the mid to late 60's that could use either voltage. With electronic controls (*timers* if you will) the cycles /programmes could very easily be adjusted to suit either voltage.

Those GE dryers that ran on 115 took over 2 hours to dry a small load and every salesperson out there warned customers against doing it. I think if you have the money to afford one of those fancy FL's you have the wherewithal to be able to provide the current. It would be interesting if they started designing some of these machines to have an auxiliary temp booster (like they do on professional dishwashers) that could be gas-fired as well as electric. I've considered installing one of those "on-demand" gas water heaters just to provide insanely hot water for the appliances.
