Just my taste in car design, but for me all the "magic" dwindled quickly after 1972.
I disliked the shorter wheelbases, lack of horsepower, and those "5 mph" bumpers.
After 1973, I started to have more interest in Mercedes and Jags as far as design, style and looks.
I still miss the "Land Yacht" Lincoln Town Cars, Buick 225s and the Rivieras.
Although they got 8-12 feet to the gallon, the luxury was Top Drawer. Even my friends Mom's 1970 Buick Estate Wagon was beautifully appointed for a Station Wagon.

Ah, "full size cars". I remember them so well. Nothing like the '70 and '71 Coupe DeVilles I had back then. So spacious, quiet and powerful. Sigh.
