Just wanted to say a big hearty THANKS to all who posted pics of the convention! Unfortunately, I've only seen a few, due to my slow dial-up connection. Once I get back to work on Tuesday, I'll be able to enjoy them at T3 speed (providing I can avoid the angry glare of my boss!)

I'm still boo-hooing over the fact that I couldn't go. Not to mention that Rick had a special surprise for me! (Save it for next year, hon.)

Soon I'll start posting some pictures of my own. David's "Picures of My Life" exhibition got me to thinking, so I'm off my butt and taking pics of my life. Or my stuff, at least.

As it turns out, I have plenty!

Been doing a little work on the kitchen this past week, so soon yall'll get to see what I've been up to. Nothing major, mind you, but I have a few goodies to show off.

I'm on dial-up too (Two coconuts & a vine)

I used to really have a hard time with those threads that are so loaded with pictures. Now I have switched to the Mozilla Firefox browser and the pics seem to download faster and it all works better (hows that for technical jargon?) Maybe you should try it.

Feel the same way Veg

I don't really know anyone here beyond some pleasant forum threads and emails, but I feel like I missed out meeting a bunch of friends, seeing some fascinating and surreal machines, and sharing alot of laughs.

Next year I really have to make some time for this.

Dial-Up and Images and Firefox

I'm on dial-up as well @ home. Nothing wrong with dial-up (unless the teleco service is flaky and causes disconnects, which can't be blamed on the ISP), it just takes a little longer.

A trick that sometimes can help on those really long threads with embedded pics, is to STOP the page from loading, then right-click on individual pics that you want to see and select "View Image"

And Firefox is really nice with the tabbed interface -- facilitates opening multiple pages and having them load in the background (although that does slow down loading for all of them) while you're viewing another page. Or go off and tend to a chore, and all the selected pages are loaded and ready to view when you get back.
