All this time I have been reading up on Megaperls by Persil ( same as Dixan that Louis brought over )

So I ordered some Persil. I love the fragrance but to my surprise when I got the box and read the formulation...well you take a look:

PERSIL DASH
Anionic Surfactant Anionic Surfactant
Nonionic Surfactant Nonionic Surfactant
Soap Soap
Foam Suppressor Foam Supressor
Fragrance Fragrance
Oxygen Bleach Phosphates
Enzymes Phosphates

Do you see? They have subsituted OxyBleach + Enzymes in order to get rid of the Phosphates. Otherwise they are identical formulations!!

What a hoot after all the reading and all the years between them. Even the anionic and nonionic surfactants are identical!!

No MayBear

It uses a different foam suppressant because they no longer make the hydrogenated fish oil for laundry now a days. Thats why I was reading up on the new detergents because I hit the wall in trying to find HYFAC for the new JonDash.

So I will have to use the new stuff in JonDash but you won't notice the difference. I washed with Persil in the 1958 Bendix and it was just like DASH except for the scent.

The European testing labs thinks the one two punch of enzymes & oxy bleach cleans just as good if not better than the phosphated formulas. But we can formulate JonDash the old away amongst ourselves but not for maket.

Persil

Persil is awesome. I have the Megapearls as you do, but I also have the powder. I don't care much for the scent of Megapearls, but I really like the smell of Henkel Persil Powder. In fact, it is the best smelling detergent I have ever used!

Is the scent really the same as Dixan?

Jet- I used some Dixan during last months visit at Greg's. That was the BEST fragrance I EVER experienced with a laundry detergent (and I am still pestering the folks at Henkels North American offices about shipping me some!) but I understood it was different from the Persil Megapearls.??????

Yes Gyra

The scent is alittle different for Dixan even though it is a Henkel product. And I am guessing it is formulated the same.

The difference I smelt is that the Dixan seems to me to have eucalyptus in it and Persil has a fresh pine type scent.

I like both.

Tex I will have to get some powder and sniff! I can but that locally instead of the net. Will try some this weekend but I love the Megaperls NO DUST!!!
