Thank you for posting this dryer! This is my 3rd favorite dryer! I love, love these BOL/MOL Maytag dryers. Tough, dependable, simple dryer dryer with reasonable performance.

While I wish more time was offered, this model has a 70 minute normal cycle with a 2-5 minute cool down, a 50 minute Permanent Press Cycle with a 6-9 minute cool down and a 15 minute air fluff cycle. Single heater, two cycling stats (low 140*F IIRC) / (high 155*F IIRC), push to start knob and of course that beautiful center dial look. All dryers should be this simple.

Here is the wiring diagram for the gas model:

This is basically what options my customized Maytag HOH dryer had except with the illuminated 808 console. Tried to adapt the auto with dual temperatures back in April, but wasn’t working as intended and ended up popping the breaker and eating a thermostat. So I just put the 806 console on from the appliance junkyard with the 408 auto dry timer. Maybe I’ll look into it again sometime in the future.

The power dropping resistor wasn’t working as intended either, all it did was run, tumble, but no heat. Tapped in the high limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, nothing. Resistor got warm, but that was about it. Timer motor still ran despite the power dropping resistor added.
