Definitely, and maybe accompanied by the smell of burning rubber. I hope that wasn't one of my stores!

Isn't the machine too full of clothes?You see the agitator move but no circulation of the clothes.

The agitator is moving at about half speed, definitely much slower than it should.

I noticed the rather slow agitation speed too, but thought he'd maybe selected the gentle cycle or something...Do these coin-op Maytags even have two speeds?

Way, way, too many clothes. IIRC my aunts condo down in Miami Beach has Maytag coin ops on each floor laundry room. An older but cool building on Collins Avenue. They are not two speed machines, but have permanent press and gentle. They are standard capacity, one speed machines with digital readout. People tend to be cheap and overloand them for their buck 75.

Coin-op Maytags have always been single speed. The delicate (warm) and wool (cold) selections give alternating wash and soak periods. Fabric-matic.
