Detergent Name, I Can't Remember...

I have this vague memory of being at friend's house (probably early or mid 70's) and her mom Had a GE Filter-Flo, and she used a detergent that was a round disk, and she would place it in the filter.

Can anyone tell me the name of the detergent, I think it began with an S?

Whit disk, Salvo, blue disk Vim. I don't remember any other table detergents that had been around up to that time.

That's it, Salvo. I can see it as though it was yesterday dissolving in the Filter Flo. I don't think we ever used it. Was it a good detergent?

It was ok detergent. Both tablets were low sudsers. We used it for a bit. My next door neighbor used it in both her 1960 & 1965 LK Combo Washer/Dryers. there is a Salvo POD, so keep your eyes peeled.

Our neighbor across the street, Mrs. Peak, used it all the time on her wash in her Whirlpool. She used to buy the large boxes of it at the commissary at Ft.Bliss (her husband was in the Army). She swore by the stuff.
