Parts diagrams show two upper seals #23 (P/N 356034 --> WP8577376) on the upper centerpost/spin tube bearings.

One seal (not installed) is included with a new tub support.

I recall mention somewhere that the seal design is changed and only one is now needed.  Correct?

New Style Top Center Post Seals

Hi Glen, yes WP changed to a single top center-post seal about a decade ago, the new seal has two sets of sealing lips built into one assembly, I guess if you want to add even longer life to the sealing system you could use two assemblies and have four sealing lips.

John, thanks for confirming the information.  Hmmm, seems tricky pressing two seals properly into position, and that wouldn't leave much space in there for oil.
