Hey everyone,

I recently had the opportunity to bring home a fab KitchenAid 3b mixer, and unfortunately, on the way home, the glass bowl was annihilated.

I'm quickly learning that KA glass bowls are not interchangeable between models--the 4c, for instance, is wider and won't work well in the 3b, although the foot fits in my machine.

Can anyone tell me how I could ID the proper bowl for my 3b? I know some of the vintage bowls I see on eBay have a "12" or a "14" embossed on the bottom, but I don't know what that refers to, nor what the correct number would be for my model. Likewise, some sellers list the dimensions of bowls (9" high by 6" round, for instance), but again, since I didn't measure the specs of my old one before it was smushed, I don't know which dimensions are correct.

I'd like to get back to using my mixer--the 4c I nabbed for the bowl has a bad speed controller, and my 3b has no bowl. Oh, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune :-P

Thanks in advance for your help as I learn new things about small appliances--they're groovy! I just need to get intelligent! :-D

Nate

LOL at a very quick glance I thought you kicked the machine into orbit out of frustration! *LOL*

oh Nate.........

Thanks :-D

Thanks, Pete--I'll give that a go. Togs, really--I may have sized-thirteeners, but do you know how much that mixer weighs? It'd be a straight-shot to the E.R. for broken toes! :-P
