Well, for the past year that I've had my dishwasher, I've been using Wal-mart brand dishwasher detergent. I used the gel first, and then switched to the powder. Its performance has been superb, the price fantastic, and the box size variations outstanding. It comes in 3 or 4 different sized boxes! I've never been disappointed with it, but this time I wanted to try something different "just because". The Electrasol box was pretty, and now that they are changing back to Finish I figured this was as good a time as any to give it a try. Well, I've done three loads, and I'm very disappointed with its performance.

It left water spots on my plastic ware, and frying pans. And yes, rinse aid dispenser is full! It left food and "dirt" on my glasses and plates. The only thing good about it is the lemon scent! I've never had this issue with the Great Value brand.

I posted several months ago about being disappointed with the Cascade 2 in 1 action pacs as well (only have one left, thank goodness). I guess I just am not a name brand kinda gal!

Anyone have a similar experience, or know why I could be having this one?

Thanks :O)

Is this Electrasol the version with enzymes or chlorine bleach? I've found the chlorinated version isn't as good overall, especially in modern dishwashers that use lower temps and less water, but I keep some on hand for those loads with tomato sauce, etc. so we don't end up with orange Tupperware. I use an enzyme detergent in the pre-wash since those work better with cooler temps (cold dishes, cold dishwasher = tepid first wash) and then the bleach product in the main wash after everything has had a chance to heat up and the chlorine can work well in the higher temps.

That's disappointing. I always liked Electrasol, but I don't give Finish much hope since I have really hard water problems down here. I guess I'll be buying the monster sized jug of Cascade from Sam's until something better comes along.

I've been using the Electrasol/finish and It's been working really well for me. I have a bosch and everything comes out just as clean as when I Cascade (before they started screwing around with the formula). Sorry to hear that you are having these problems. Here in Florida, the Great Value is more expensive than Electrasol/finish. I have use the Great Value with the same outstanding results as with Electrasol.

Electrosol has always been the poorest performing detergent I have EVER used. Cascade or Par (Safeway brand) has given me superior results.
