Hi all, I have a water softener in my house and prior to the tab detergents I just used 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of powder or gel available. I've been using tabs lately but have been thinking, would the tabs provide too much detergent and be more likely to CAUSE etching instead of preventing it? I know the Cascade platinum packs with Dawn actually cause a lot of bubbles so much so that I can HEAR the difference in the sound of the water inside and it causes some drips at the door bottom, never had another brand do that. Been considering going back to plain old powder or gels WITH chlorine because it makes the machine stay fresher (same reason I use bleach in my Asko washer even though Asko says it's not necessary and in 17 years I've never had a mold or odor problem). Anyone else have an opinion on the amount in the tabs or packs?
