Larry, Not really. Maybe if the glass is not tilted enough and there is a large amount of water, but very little. Not so much that I would notice. I will hacve to check more closely tonight.
What I like about this machine is the way it cleans. My flatware never came out so shiny.
Every thing including the flat ware comes out sparkling. Before the water softner, I had the rings.
Do you have soft or hard water? If you have hard water are you considering a softener? I love the soft water. Great for laundry, (clothes come out nice and clean and white), dishwasher and of course showering. Leaves skin nice and soft.
Hard water here Ray, water softener is set between 5-9 gpg.
Water is very soft after treatment so without adding Citric Acid to the main wash, rings are noticeable!
Larry, I could be wrong, but I thought that the hard water minerals caused the rings and spotting? I have had the water softener installed for many years, and I think when we tested it after it was installed it read 0-3 gpg. I think 5-9 is still considerred a little hard.
Sick of having hundreds of cleaning products under the kitchen sink which dont get used.
Am a junkie in buying all kinds of products I think il prefer using but end up banishing and then theres the retro products which dont work out as well as they should.
Ajax powder, bought it for the kitchen sink. Got sick of rinsing it out of the dishcloth after use.
Tons of window and glass sprays etc when I much prefer a drop of washing up liquid and a cotton cloth.
So
Have used up what I can and let supplies dwindled but it "Dawn"ed on me that I also buy every day staples in bulk and either get sick of them or the container they come in means the cupboard is chocka.
This is the case with the 2x 1litre Fairy liquids I bought while they were on offer.
Its taken 3 months to use one with having a dishwasher and I fancy a change.
So I have been using 1tsp in the dishwasher on oily and greasy loads which ensures the suds dont build up and the wash has been as clean as what the above Sainsburys powder got it.
Put a load of coffee cups, sandwich plates/breakfast dishes and teapots on last night forgetting there was no grease on the load.
Panicked but didnt want to waste the wash water when it got frothy inside so added 1/4 of a cap of cheap softener.
Killed the suds and it did the job.
Will try to use up the glut of WUL this way and cut costs on DW powder.
Ironically the combination of Original Green Fairy and Somerfields Lime and Lotus flower FS mixed in the dishwasher produced the same scent that Persil Automatic Liquid had in the 1980's!
I do wonder if im turning into my mother who has used WUL a few times to my cringing when we were out of DW powder.
Not to mention the Ideal for Twintub Ariel powder that occasionally found its way into the Electrolux when times were difficult - it was mixed with Safeway Savers powder though LOL.
I take back the good things I said about the Sunlight tabs, twice now they have not completely dissolved and I've had to rerun the dishwasher.
I bought some Cascade tabs Pure rinse with Dawn or something and tried them in a load with a bowl that had had scalloped potatoes baked in it..you know the ring around the top edge crust it leaves..
Well I put the casserole flat down on the bottom, used the Baked on setting of my KitchenAid,,it took forever and it didn't remove the crusty ring at all.. it's crusty it's not burned on. So I'm not too impressed with the Cascade tabs and the power of Dawn.
Hi Pete. I was not impressed with it either. I am not a gel user, however, I do like the new Cascade Advanced gel, with advanced bleaching, pure rinse, complete, etc. lol. It does do a pretty good job on the baked on stuff.
I normally only use Sainsburys or Waitrose own brand DW powder and have never had a problem and it is safe on Wedgewood so suits me just fine. However, today I was in Wilkinsons and they had Finish Quantum packs of 20 reduced to about £3.50 so bought a packet to see how good they are, as I have heard many good things about them.
