Ironrite like other mangles/rotary ironers went the way of the Dodo by the mid-1960's or so. Ironrite only made ironers so the decline in ironing by housewives really hit them hard, whereas other rotary ironer makers such as Maytag, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Bendix et al had other laundry appliances to fall back on.
Believe it or not, not all women were thrilled with rotary ironers, which accounts for many being found in like new or even MIB condition years later. If one has an efficient system of hand ironing with the proper equipment, it is very easy to go through much ironing faster than with a rotary iron, and with better results.
I have a large ironing table like one sees in old French hand laundries, and because of the size (6' by 4') can easily whip through lots of sheets and such quite quickly.
