Does anyone here do the vinegar rinse thing?

After reading about this I don't know how many times on THS, I thought I'd give it a try in the whites and towels. For other things, I use Downy Advanced. I don't think Downy Advanced affects towels adversely like some softeners do, but the vinegar is supposed to help soap residue removal, and the towels do seem soft.

What have been your experiences with this if you've tried it? Have you tried it in things other than towels and such?

I've tried it for many things and always keep a bottle in the laundry room(s). I use clear ammonia for washing rags, etc. and use the vinegar in the rinse to neutralize the ammonia. Since the bleach is dispensed in the first rinse of the Duet cycle, the timing for vinegar couldn't be better - neutralize the alkali in the first rinse and then have two more clear water rinses following that - all automatically!
