I recently bought a bottle at Wallyworld for $9.99 It worked ok, the smell wasn't so bad, but I must admit, when I use a liquid detergent Tide Coldwater Fresh Scent is the best. I still use CHEER powder for my towels, sheets, rugs etc. Your thoughts......

I have to say I think most of the liquid detergents STINK now a days. They seem to have a moldy smell. I thought it was me, but several of my friends think the same way. What happened to the nice smell of the liquid detergents from many many years ago. WHen Wisk first came out back in the late 50's, it smelled so nice.

rayjay it's funny you say that.. i thought it was just me also! thinking all liquid detergents smell like mold. it also seems like all of the fabric softeners out there (especially downy) smell rancid, i don't understand do these companies really think people like the way all this stuff smells? although my absolute FAVORITE smell is tide with bleach powder, it seems to smell alot like vintage powders used to, and when i smell tide with bleach powder it smells just like it used to years ago.

i have tried the new wisk, it works ok, although i tried it on my whites and it didn't get out the ground in dirt on the bottom of my socks (thats how i tell if a detergent is good) which tide liquid even gets my socks white. i really don't think it is worth the price. tide is better and omg mountain spring liquid scent is amazing hipnitizing to me... very masculine scent.

Hi Toploader....

I do not know how old you are but..... Tide from the 50's along with RinsoBlue, Cheer, SIlverdust, Breeze, All and Dash had such a nice clean soapy smell to them I do not know what they did??? April Fresh Downy is still nice, but I have to say the Costco brand Kirkland Lavender is realy nice.

I hate when my clothes smell like CANDY or Flowers, or Mold.

Why dont the companies go back to the scents from years ago?

malcom, do u think cheer cleans better than tide? which one, powder or liquid? i have heard alot of members on here saying that henkel persil is the best powder money can buy especially on whites. i have a top loader though... wonder if i can use it in my top loader with the same results... i might have to give cheer bright clean a try.

Cheer

I found that the Cheer HE Bright Clean returns the same results as the Tide w/Bleach at a lower cost.  Plus, I find I don't have to add Borax or other things to it.  Sears Powder is good too, but Cheer cleans better for me.

I noticed on my back of Purex FS that it is made by Henkel.  Who knew?
