I think it was back in the early 70's when the original Gain detergent was introduced. At the same time another detergent of the same type was introduced as well. These were publicized due to their use of enzyme stain fighters, which was new technology at the time. I can remember the name of Gain, but I can't remember the name of the second one. It came in a yellowish box.
The reason I even remember it at all was that I liked the smell.
It's been long deleted from the market, I think it lasted up until 1980 or so. Anyone remember the name of it? I think once I see it I'll recognise it.

Yellow box with enzymes likely was Drive. I don't recall that Punch was a yellow box. Rumor has it that Drive was so strong with enzymes as to cause some people to have the itchies.

Punch gets my vote, too.

No way you can call that bold banana colored box Drive came in "yellowISH".

Hmmm, maybe

I do remember Drive, that may have been it... any others?

Talk about the itchies, my Mother used to use a product back in the 70's called "Miracle White". My clothes used to make me itch like I was wearing a fiberglass blanket. She maintainted that it was "impossible" to be allergic to a detergent. I told her it had to be something. We went around and around on this. After seeing a doctor, he asked her if she had washed fiberglass drapes in the washer recently, and she said never. So the doc told me to wash my own clothes myself using something like Ivory Snow which I did and all the itching went away. But it took weeks for my skin to come back to normal.
So we comprimised on Breeze, which didn't cause me any more problems. Funny, but I haven't had any detergent problems since, and that was 30 years ago!
