Dollar Tree

Had to pick up a few items today at our Dollar Tree and our sore is having refrigerator/freezers put in just like Family Dollar and Dollar General.  I think they are getting in the fight against the new small Walmart Express stores that are being built for small towns and for the inner city in large cities the stores are only 10 to 15 thousand sa ft.  WE have the big WalMart Supercenter but 6 miles away is the first Express they put in.  Milk there is $2.00 a gallon and eggs are $0.50 a dozec and neary all the supermarkets and dollar stores have the same price.  When Aldi went in across the highway from our Walmart it sure made them lower prices on food items.

 

So has anyone else noticed if their Dollar Tree is getting the cold food areas too.  Ours is a largers DT.

Our Dollar Tree about 10 miles from me has always had a big cooler of cold/frozen foods. I always get some good buys there, but usually not food items. We also have a Save a Lot close by that beats Walmart Supercenters prices on a lot of food things. The other Dollar stores, including Family Dollar, dont seem to sell anything for a buck or have the selection.

Ours always had a Cooler for reg fridge items, and a Freezer section.......I stock up on the veggies.......especially when Walmart has the same thing for 2X the price....

The local stores here added a frozen section just before Christmas. Some items are a good deal, others, well they are convenient.

The Tony's Pizza pockets are real good, and worth it up to par with Hot Pockets, only better. Made in Hutchinson Kansas too btw.

Frozen one servine pies, cheaper at Wal-mart.
10 eggs, not a dozen, 10 eggs. ok.

It will be great for us. We have sav a lot, Aldi, Wal Mart and Harps. Wal art is the highest of all. Our Dollar General Both and the Family Dollar have food stuff also. My wife works as an account at Harps home office so we do shop there and it is the closest to us. Frozen veggies are $0.79 to $1.00 already. We buy canned goods mostly at a factory outletstore for Allens Canning here.

I buy our employee sales chicken products from my work.

WalMarts not always the cheapest here either but they price match and often don't even want to see the competitors ad.. they just take your word for it.. strange I thought but I see people doing it. I don't go there that often because we have a better store with better selection "No Frills" and they price match as well.
I just gather up all the flyers out of the paper on Thursday and Friday,, mark the stuff I want at all the other stores around town and go to No Frills.. It's actually better because when something is really really cheap at one of the other stores everyone goes there and buys it all up so often they're outta stock so you know it'll be available for the same price at No Frills.. A lot of people are too embarassed to take competitors ads to another store. I say, why the hell not,, they offer it,, and the money is better in my pocket than the billionaires who own the joint.

Dollar tree,  don't overlook their microfiber mop.  Its not hard to wring out and perfect if you have  small spaces  to mop like a entryway, bathroom & kitchen.   I also use their liquid Oxydol for dark clothes,  hard to beat for a buck.  alr

Dollar Tree Foods and Merchandise

All the Dollar Trees in metro Baltimore have cold food, the brands are a little iffy some of them I never heard of. Cant beat this place for plastic food containers , cleaning supplies, some grooming items and basic candles.

I love Dollar Tree to stock up on stuff like Aspirin, fake Nyquil and ointments.
In Gemany the only place to buy over the counter drugs are pharmacys and they are rather expensive.

The only time I came along a Dollar Tree with a refrigerator, I had no microwave at the hotel, so I could not try much. Bought a smalish stick of Colbyjack which was really awesome.

The best buckstore I have ever been to was Jack`s World in Manhatten, the second place would be Dollar Tree in my opinion.

The Family Dollar a few blocks from me has a couple of coolers with frozen and refrigerated items. I paid $2.02 for a dozen eggs the other day. I haven't been into Dollar Tree for a while, but I will have to check and see.

wow, $2.02 seems high for eggs.  Last time i bought some they were 18 for $1.89.  I'm cutting way down on eggs, but around here on sale Large are $.99, and regularly $1.49 or so.

The Dollar Trees on my area (Philadelphia) have had cold and frozen food cases for several years. The offerings were not very appealing to me. They do have fresh bread and other food basics. I am uncomfortable buying food at a dollar store, probably because they don't seem to have many healthy options, so I generally skip that section.
