I just made a banana cream dream pie, it's setting up in the fridge. I'm going to put sliced bananas on the top and cover it all with more dream whip.

There is another pie recipe similar to the dream pie but it use Jello gelatin and cool whip (I think) that I would like to make if I could find the recipe. I think it was called something like light and fruity pie.

That's the one thanks Frigilux! During the holidays last year I bought two packages of Jello pumpkin spice flavored pudding, I think I will make a Dream Pie out of that next.

The banana cream one was good, but I think the extra bananas and Dream Whip on the top was a little too much.

I made one this morning. The only thing I question is the 2 cups of ice. The minute I dumped it in, the mixture went from "thicken" to "set". I barely stirred the ice around a couple of times and had to take it all out, which of course took about 25% of the jello that clung to the ice cubes with it. I'd say 1 cup to 1-1/4 cups of ice would be plenty.

The pie was still very good, though. I put in about 1-1/2 cups of sliced strawberries. Very light, and not too sweet. I used sugar-free Jello to help keep the calorie count down.

In fact.....The fluff is good enough to eat on its own, without a crust. I think it would be great served in champagne glasses, or something like that.

Dream Pie

2 Envelopes Dream Whip
2 3/4 cups of cold milk divided
1 tsp. vanilla
2 pkgs 4 serving) Jello instant pudding mix
1 Baked pastry shell or Graham Cracker Crust

Beat both whip topping packets in 1 cup of milk and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer high speed for six minutes or until topping thickens and forms peaks.

Add remaining 1 3/4 cups of milk and pudding mixes, beat on low speed. Beat on high for two minutes scraping bowl occasionally. Spoon into pastry shell. Refrigerate for 4 hours Garnish as desired. Store left over pie in refrigerator. Makes 8 servings.

Chocolate Dream Pie Use Jello chocolate instant pudding and Oreo pie crust. If desired and 1 Tbsp Maxwell instant coffee or 1/2 tsp peppermint extract or almond extract with remaining milk.

Thanks

Autowasherfreak for this. I make my partner one sort of like this which uses cool whip instead of Dream Whip. I also lined the bottomof the pan with sliced bananas. I think the Dream Whip will add a creamy texture and it doesn't appear to be too sweet. For one crazy reason the Cool Whip runs his blood sugar up. I'm going to try this one. Thanks again. John
