OK Rember way back when I was really young seeing a dryer that actually had 3 belts if you can beleive it. But can't figure what it was

Form the back with back cover removed the motor was in the bottom Left hand corner that had a double groved pulley on belt drove the blower in the bottom right hand corner. Then the other belt from the motor drove an ideler Pulley and that Pulley then inturn drove the Drum Pulley. Three belts total...

Does anyone have any indea what dryer this was? I have been trying to figure this out for a WHILE

Third belt was probably for the blower, so maybe a pre-66 WP-built dryer, but many early dryers had the speed reduction pulley to turn the drum. This is like trying to identify someone from the way their butt looked with no other distinguishing features; possible, but not easy. Do you remember if the exhaust came out just under the control panel above the third belt?

3 Belt Dryers

MT dryers before the Halo-of-Heat dryers all had three belts as did early SQs, Blackstones, Hotpoints and ABC-O-Matics-Kelvinators. There may be a few more, on all the above dryers two belts were used to drive the drum and the third was used to power the blower or water pump in the case of HP and MT water condenser dryers.

So the dryer you remember could have been one of several different brands.
