dryer rebuild

I'd like to rebuild my 78 Imperial dryer, it runs ok but I hear some noise from what I imagine is the rollers. Of course my model number lookup doesn't tell me if this fits, but is this a standard rebuild kit that would work on a Whirlpool Imperial dryer model LA17881Y0?

Rebuilding A WP 29" Dryer

Hi Steven, that is not the correct kit for your dryer, the only parts you can use from this kit on your dryer are two of the rollers, the idler pulley and belt are the wrong ones for your dryer, and your dryer only has two rollers. This kit is for 27" dryers with the lint filter in the front of the drum.

 

It is usually better to just buy the parts you need to repair your dryer.

The maintenance kit for the 29" Whirlpool dryer is part # 4392065. It comes with 2 drum rollers and hardware to install them, a new belt and a new idler pulley.
