Dryer timer cap broke - can I fix it easily?

I have a Maytag Atlantis dryer. Model # MDE7400AYW serial # 19727328CJ.

While pulling the timer knob to start the cycle, it broke and came off completely. The dryer still works when I use players to pull the plastic middle part connected to the timer. I think I only need the plastic part to be replaced but i cannot find only that part. Is there a way I can recreate this or replace just the plastic part? Or must I buy a whole new timer? Thank you for helping.

You will have to replace the timer

Broken timer shaft.

You can just bypass the start contacts in the timer and then it will just when you turn the timer to the setting desired and close the dryers door.
