I debated where to post this given the possible age, but... Does anyone know the Maytag and JennAir models of dishwasher that had the 3rd rack and the 4 arms?

I would love to get my hands on a stainless tub version!

I found this pic on gardenweb when trying to do a google search.

Any help is appreciated!

I got one of these around 2002....it was around the introduction of the tall tub machines, available in 2 or 3 rack setup......they did have great loading capabilities...

I have a regular two rack machine now, but it probably wouldn't take much to add the third rack, the holes are there for the rack glides, and I would have to look if the rear water tower has the port for the middle rack, even that would not be hard to change out if needed...

these were both plastic tubs, not sure if a stainless interior was available....

Novel concept but...

How well did it clean? There is only so much water a given pump can move and now you are dividing it up between 3 main arms and not just two. (Not counting the top rinse arm)
Did they have more than a 1/2hp pump and what capacity was it?

I saw them in the stores but never took note of the diameter of the wash arms and delivery tubes. Whirlpool clearly reduced the diameter on the Point Voyager tall tub machines so that they could get the water moving well enough with the smaller HP pumps and apparently so did everything other mfr. Was it the same here?

Steve, these were marketed before the WP acquisition of Maytag.

Actually Steve:

IIRC they used the same pump as the Intelliclean/Jetclean dishwashers of the late 90's.  1/3 hp pump, triple filtration, around 35gpm.  IMO these were the best cleaning tall tubs(Outside of an AM-14T of course, Best Tall Tub EVER).

Tall Tub MT Built DWs

The three rack system was interesting, but it was not built with a SS tub, and discontinued by MT before they sold out to WP.

 

It is true that the MT TT DWs and their standard tub DWs [both SS and plastic tank after the porclean tank RR machines ]  used about the same size pump impeller and similar size motor, BUT the main wash impeller was about 1/2 as large as the Hobart KA and all WP dishwasher Impellers.

 

I always found that all MT DWs after the RR machines were pretty weak in pumping performance.

 

I did like the MT TT DWs in many ways and when WP took over MT they told us that they would keep the MT TT design and they did for just about two years, but in the end it was just a problem pron flawed design that they was no point in keeping. WP closed a brand new plant and said goodby to the problems.

 

We still have many customers with MT TT DWs, but they are going fast, grab one soon if you want one for your collection, I guess that I should get one for the Great Wall Of DWs at the museum.

Yeah, and the manual for the specific model listed above on the verry Maytag support site for that model mentions SS interiors...

Why on earth would a manufacturer ever put something like this in their most distributed part of technical literature, if there was never any possible way this would haver ever applied to anyone including the exact piece of technology they designed, produced and sold?
