around 1981,a parents of a friend bought a new heating system for their double wide mobile home that consisted of an outdoor unit about 3'square(iirc)that had a high-efficiency blower-forced burner, heat exchanger, and circulating pump to circulate heated glycol mix to heat coil in the house.I think amana made this and i thought it was pretty cool and liked the sound of the outdoor unit when it cranked up and lit off-i'd like to find one to play with and use if in good enough condition.Anyone seen one of these or used them?

I think I remember hearing about them. It kept all of the combustion outside. This was before the inroduction of direct vent furnaces with sealed combustion chambers. Do you know if the one you mentioned is still working?

they moved to a different house and the doublewide with the glycol circulating heater was moved and turned into an office building around 1984,so don't know how long it was in service or the reliability past the first 3 years.I did find one at the dump in 1994 and kept the draft blower/pump;was a ~1/8 hp 3450 rpm motor with high pressure blower on one end and the circulation pump on the other

There were..

Many of these in my hometown, but most were not long lived, everyone who had them said they were very efficient,I never serviced one, but have seen them.
