Early 50s Kenmore washer in Washington with other appliances

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I suppose a Westinghouse refrigerator is less common than a GE, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, or Kenmore from the same time period. As I said, it's just trim that's on the TOL models; the less expensive models had plain doors.

I see that the oven has a rotisserie. The 1953 Westinghouse Imperial 30 range I have has a lot of common parts to this wall oven. However, mine doesn't have that accessory.

The sink looks to be in good shape. I didn't see anything indicating if it is cast iron or enameled steel. Usually the steel ones are all chipped up after a few years.

This pair was a part of my early childhood from being conscious of them from about age 4 onward. The washer was at some friends house in Dallas and served a family of by then 8 at the end of its life and replacedwith a Wetingohuse Laundromat washer in 1962 or 1963. The drter (gas) was a neighbor of ours from when it was brand new until it finally wore out 1972 or 1973.

I noticed that they call the suds saver "Sudsomatic" in this catalog page. Wasn't that Maytag's term for that Rube Goldberg device that Maytag introduced that was placed in the sink and plugged in to return the suds through the hose that you placed into the washer's tub? They must have gotten into some sort of trouble because the user's manual for the 1958 Lady has a page or two that dealt with the SudsMiser except that the word Miser was blacked out (althouth if you held the page to the light you could still read Miser) and I think that was Whirlpool's term for their suds saving system.
