Hello everyone. As some may have seen, I recently talked with somebody selling a Avocado Green Westinghouse washer. After arranging pick up of that machine he also decided to throw in this second machine for free, which is in similar condition. I have some questions about it though. From what I can tell it is an earlier model (probably early to mid 70s) Maytag A106. I say this because it has what looks like a dark gray trim around the console, and a chrome dial, where the newer model ones have whiter plastic trim and plastic knob. It also appears that the water temperatures are ordered differently than the newer model ones and has the maytag “Pilot Light” above the timer. Is there anything else I should look for on this machine when I get it? Thank you for any help you guys can throw my way!

Early 1970’s would by my guess. Maytag went away from the sapphire/sea-mist color in 1975 but kept sapphire trim on the BOL Maytags till 1980 since that was the last year of Maytag center dial production production.

It has the older timer knob so it's before Nov 1972. The last 2 letters in the serial # will reveal its age.

The timer knob change was Nov 1971, not '72. The timer dial change occurred in 1975.
