Easy drain hose issue

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Will...

I have had the same issue with my Spindrier model SCM.

The drain hose for the spin tub developed 2 long slits.

I carefully removed it from the machine so as not to make it worse. I had
some Flex Tape and decided to try that. I cut 2 long thin pieces to cover the
slits. I then cut strips to wrap the rest of the hose and the 2 patches to try
and re-enforce the entire hose.

So far, no leaks.

The wash tub hose is OK for now, so I left that alone.

I know you are aware these are that rare material unobtainium, so I wish you good luck in finding

a solution. This worked for me, for now, but I may be in the same boat again in the future.

Oh, if you decide to try this, Flex Tape is VERY sticky. Once it's on it's not coming off.

yes...

That was my first thought too, but I didn't have the time to do it.

I would have looked for a smaller size sink flange, like for a bar sink, or
whatever would fit the hole in the tub. Then the hunt for a hose to connect
to the pump, probably at the auto parts store. Thinking outside the box, as
Yogi would say.

Who knows, I may have to follow your lead in the future. Let me know if you
come up with a workable solution!

Bill
