Help Support :

Oh Matty

Now that is tempting

I also used that very same washer for a couple of months in 1995 when I moved into my first flat aged 20.

They look in good condition too

OOOOOOOOH

I like that set, my sister had the same washer, it was excellent, never failed to get anything clean, or rinse out fairy powder, which is a nightmare to rinse out as some of you know!!

Wish I was closer to these :-(

Take Care
Dan

The Logic pair are lovely I must admit. Always fab to get a matching pair. I bet someone on here wont be able to resist!...lol

Darren there was hardly any difference between Logics and Ecologics. The main difference like you say was the drum paddles. The rest is just cosmetic as far as I am aware.
I have attached some pics of the Ecologic I had and as you can see they are vertually identical to the Logics. They did put a piece of plasic though across the door glass like the newwaves I guess to keep young children touching the glass if it was on a 95 degree wash. They mainly though just gave them a bit of a revamp.

Hi Nick

I would definately try and go for the 1100 if you can.You will cetainly not be dissapointed with it if you win it.Is that you who has bid on it already?

Hopefully you may get it for a bargain price! Its always a bit that can be forgotten the delivery charges though. Its very easy to get excited thinking you are getting a bargain then you remember how much its going to cost to get it delivered!

I will be watching it and keeping my fingers crossed for you if you go for it.

Greetings from Merthyr Tydfil

Long time reader / first message.

Since this is the UK thread , thought id say hello here.

I had a logic 1300 and loved it.

Hello Glamwales!

Funnily enough I spent alot of time using an `Ecologic 1300' in Cardiff when my then girlfriend lived above the XL Fish bar on Crwys Road, Cathays. Great machine, solid machine used many times a day and the spin was superb, but it needed to tumble more on cottons washes, the drum rested to much IMO.

I sure wish Hoover was still made at Merthyr!

Welcome to the club, the UK contingency is growing by about 4 a week at the moment!

Mark, I haven't bid on the 1100 yet, someone else has. I kow the seller want to get about £50 for it.

I can't decide to whether to bid on that or on the Logic washer and dryer set. I am more inclined to go with the set. That Logic 1100 means alot to me as it's the washer I first used when I loved in to my own flat (that exact one).

Ideally, in terms of the older 1100 like the one you've got, I'd like to waut and see if the 800 version of it comes up. Crazy, I know, but this was my first childhood washer. It has two little round silver spin selectors, not 3, and the panel is all silver not two tone. I don't know the model number. The spin went straight up to 800. The programs were numbers not letters. I think they are letters on the 1100 aren't they - `E: Non fast colours' etc etc.

There was an even older version of the Hoover I just mentioned which had a rocker switch instead of push buttons - `A / B' whereby A gave you the short spin and B the full spin. Many friends had this model which also, if I remember rightly, used a high water level for all the wash programs (single level switch at high setting!)

On the other hand the older machine is rarer and I'd be a fool to let it go! Decisions decision......

Welcome Glamwales!!!

Nice to see another UK member. We are growing and growing.

Hi Nick

The model I think you are refering to is the A3006.It was called the "Automatic De Luxe". It has 2 silver buttons (It didnt have the wool one) and was 770 spin if I remember. The programmes were numbers yes you are correct.I did have one of these and it went to Mike. He got the matching dryer a few months ago. I have one picture of it which I have attached. Its the the one at the bottom right. But then again there was I think an Electronic 800 so that may be the one you are thinking of as im not sure what that looked like. The other model you are thinking about I think is the 3236H which like you say had A/B on the switch and was very simple you just selected A1 or A2 B1 or B2 and so on. With regards to the 1100 or Logic pair I will watch and see which you decide..difficult decision I must admit as I like the Logic pair also.

Hmmm

Makes me wish I didn't dump my little find...I miss my Energy Control Series Electron 800 De Luxe. :(

Mark, just incase you have access to a Makro store, they are currently selling the newer toploader Whirlpool Washer and Dryer together for £449.98 plues VAT which equals £528.73, which is a bargain.

Wish I had space for them myself!!!!

Hey Dan

Thanks very much for the info.We did indeed go to Makros last Tuesday the night before the Whirlpool offer was on to see if they had put them out yet (They sometimes have the offers out the night before). Well the washers and dryers had obviously been out a few days before the offer at full price for each machine. All the washers had been sold and there were 3 dryers left. The as always helpful (not) member of staff said...."I dunno when we are getting anymore in". I was not impressed and stomped off out of the store.

After thinking about it I came up with the solution.Im getting the washer model I really wanted off the internet now at a cheaper price. The model in Makro wasnt the model I wanted but the offer price for both couldnt be ignored.Im not now having the matching dryer.Im going to keep 2 Hoover dryers instead.

Hi Mark

Thanks very much for your last response, yes - that Hoover in the picture was the very first auto washer we had as a family. I never thought I'd see one again! To be honest, it was an extremely unreliable machine and was replaced in about 1985 with a Bendix. We hadn't realised that by that point Bendix was not the same as the old `square doors' and the machine we got was basically pants. That was replaced in 1990 with a Zanussi washer dryer. That was alright and gave a good clean wash but the dryer, as most dryers in combi units in my opinion, was inadequate.

3-10 days, huh? Have you stocked up on the `Ariel Twin Tub and Handwash' ?? Or do you plan to use regular detergent in it?
