Talking of Velo Servis

I asked Neil if he still had the same washer and he said no, he had given it to his cousin 2 years ago who had just had a baby and unlike most mums was using eco terry towelling nappies...

It has been used nearly daily for the last two years boil washing and sterilising the eco nappies, he said the only thing wrong is a little flaking of paint on the top - just goes to show you never can judge a book by its cover - lasting longer than a lot of modern washers...

Like to see how much this sells for, it looks mint, if it is I could see it making that sort of money. I sell high end vintage and anything mint can triple the price or even more.

Servis Twinnie

I know that some people do not have a high opinion of the Servis Twinnie that Austin has just sold, I think it has rather a nice retro look - somewhat like the Rolls machines of the early 1960s. But how DOES it (or the later Velo version) perform? I have seen Mike's very interesting video of the drive mechanism, be interesting to know how well it washes

Hi Al,

I always thought the same, really liked the styling when I first saw it advertised in the Grattan supplement, very retro and tried to order one, but I was told the first batch of 400 machines had been sold and they were awaiting another batch, presumably from Velo.
I wonder if the wash action is the same as the big square Turbo twintub ? My mate had one of those and got rid of it.
I think this servis model was 1101. I was lucky enough to get a user manual from Servis.

Velo Servis...

They both washed really well and the fact that Neils is washing terry nappies for 2 years says it all really, the square tub Norfrost had a slightly larger capacity and seemed to have a more robust wash action with the washing being forced into the corners of the tub and out again...

The spin was super fast and very efficient, they had the widest diameter can of any twinny made!!
