EEEEK A LEAK !!!! 1982 Hotpoint Washer

Well gentlemen... I did get my fabric softener dispenser... But I found a 1982 hotpoint in great shape left behind in a basement by two older women A young guy bought the house and posted it on craigslist for $50.00.. Me being a filter flo lover I bought it today gave it a test Washed LIKE a CHAMP STRONG! BUT>> and found a leak..It was a steady drip from this area ? I am guessing an outer tub? A small rusty hole ? Whats a guy to do?

Maybe you could carefully use some JB Weld to fix the leak? I'd use the marine version.

JB weld...or a good marine sealant, used on both sides should solve your problem.....

use a torch or heat gun to make sure the area is really dry and clean as possible...

how big is the hole?, a tiny one, no biggie to seal, a little bigger, and you can use a nut/bolt and a few washers to repair....easy as pie...

JB weld

or that plumbers epoxy work great in those situations. The putty is easier to work with up under a tub like that.

Great washer

My parents had a very similar Hotpoint Rim Flo from 1984 to about 2009 or so. The only repair it ever had was a new pump and a belt sometime in the '90s. Leaks are what finally killed it.
