I hope the laundry gods can help me, I own a Speed Queen AES68AWF (TOL) dryer and recently moved to a house with options of either gas or electric for the dryer, I found an AGS17AWF (BOL) that is cosmetically in pretty bad shape and am wondering if I can take the control panel from my electric dryer and put them on the gas dryer?

Thanks in advance!

Jim, I really don't know.

But, the current/wattage needed to open the gas valve and trigger ignition is MINISCULE compared te the wattage/current drawn by an electric dryer's heating element So if these both flow through the timer without a relay, one would assume a timer for an electic dryer can CERTAINLY handle the puny electrical load needed to open the gas valve.

If you'd be so kind as to send me the specs. and electical schematics, ("offline" , if you prefer), I'd be happy to reivew them for you, to see if an answer can be obtained.
