I just found out about this "Option" and others recently (from another forum) and haven't seen it posted here so I'm sharing.

I also just recently wrote to Electrolux about a "Water Plus" option and they told me "no we don't offer that feature nore will they be adding it in the future to their washers". I guess the person handling e-mails doesn't even know about this feature.

The latest models of Electrolux Steam model washing machines have increased the amount of "Options" (in addition to first generation "Options") which include:

ECO FRIENDLY
The eco friendly option reduces the hot and warm
water temperature a few degrees to save energy. It is
available with all cycles except deep clean sanitize
and spin only.

ALLERGEN
If you have asthma or allergy sufferers in your home,
add this option to combine hot water temperature
(boosted with internal heater), fast speed tumbling and
multiple rinses to help ensure the destruction of dust
mites and removal of pet dander.

EXTENDED FRESH
Select extended fresh to apply periodic rinses
with load tumbling after the wash cycle is complete
to keep clothes left in the washer fresh for
up to 12 hours. When you are ready to remove
the load during the extended fresh segment, you
must press cancel to end the cycle and open the
door.

SHRINK GUARD
Select shrink guard to help relax load after final
spin by agitating, preventing shrinking and wrinkling.

ADD MORE WATER
Increase the water fill level of the agitation portion
of any wash cycle.

STAIN PRETREAT
Stain pretreat uses a special 10 minute soak/
pretreat agitation before the main wash. It fills
initially with detergent and cold water to prevent
protein stains from setting, then the internal heater
is activated to heat the wash water to remove nonprotein
based stains. Can be used with prewash
for the toughest stains.

FRESHWATER RINSE
Use this option when additional rinsing is desired
to remove excess dirt or detergent. It is recommended
for heavily soiled loads or if household
members have sensitive skin.

EXTRA SPIN
Use this option to add several minutes to the final
spin at the selected speed. This will improve water
extraction, decrease drying time and save energy.
Extra spin is available with all cycles except fast
wash, delicates, hand wash and spin only.

PREWASH
Select this option to add a short wash period
prior to the normal, colors, casual, active wear,
whites, and heavy duty cycles. Heavily soiled
and stained loads will prewash in cold water for
5 minutes. The water will drain and the load will
automatically advance to the selected wash cycle.
See Step 5 in the “Operating Your Washer” section in
this guide for details on adding detergent to the “Pre-
Wash” cup in the dispenser.

WARM RINSE
Select the warm rinse option with the normal,
heavy duty, active wear, fast wash, delicates
and hand wash cycles.

DELAY START
Use delay start to select a wash time convenient
to your schedule or during off-peak energy hours.
The start of any cycle can be delayed for 30 minutes
to 22 hours. Select the delay start option and
then press the button under the plus (+) or minus
(-) symbols to scroll to the delayed time setting desired.
Press the select button and the delay time
will be displayed. Time will begin counting down
when you select start.

In addition to saving three "Favorite" cycles you can now add a "Custom Mode" which allows up to three household members to personalize up to three favorite cycles each.

I really wish I could see this "Add More Water" option in use in a video.

I wonder if it adds more water to only the wash portion of the cycle or both wash and rinse cycles.

Included is the PDF link of the Use and Care Guide.

George, thank you for posting. Just like the Electrolux washers, these options are also available on most of the new Frigidaire 4.4 cu. ft. and 4.7 cu. ft. Frigidaire like Frigilux got about a month or 6 weeks ago.

Good Documentation

That is one of the better written owner's manuals I have seen in quite a while.

Thanks for posting.

But, here's a trick with the Electrolux to add more water. Start the cycle you want normally. Let it fill and agitate for a few seconds. Then, cancel the cycle and select the hand wash cycle. Start it, and the machine will fill with substantially more water. After this has happened, cancel the hand wash cycle, and return to the cycle you want to use and press the start button. You will then actually see the water the laundry is plunged down into while it tumbles.

That is the good thing about Whirlpool's home page: once new models arrive, the written info (manuals etc.) is up there, too. I think it took Electrolux several weeks before the manual for the 5 cu.ft. model was online. I eventually got it via managemylife.com.

The manual is indeed one of the better ones - well structured - but still lacks information on cycle time and water temps. Bosch makes the best manuals in that regard.

As been said before, the extra water option adds very little extra water. I also think Shrink Guard should have been named Wrinkle Guard as extended tumbling really does nothing to prevent shrinking. And what are "periodic rinses"? Would this be some sort of Rinse Hold option? I wish Electrolux would allow the user to add more rinses. LG already offers two extra rinses on both their FLs and TLs.
