I know a bit about these machines, i'm pretty sure they are based on the Nexus Construction which was what they made the Zanussi Jetsystem/Nexus/Amie machines from 1994-1999.

My friend rachael has the 900rpm spin model which i displayed in a previous post the EW901 which has the temp dial prog dial and 4 buttons, I clearly remember these in the East midlands electricity shop

her washer

Its great, i love how the machine starts staight away as soon as you press the on/off button. it makes the exact same humming sound as the older electroluxes, it does high level rinses on the cottons rinses.

thats the machine she has below, its from February 1993

Mr Boilwash;

That's why electrolux prefers to develop all models in Brazil.
Our weather is too hot, so If the motor can resist here, it will resist to other weathers.
Our national detergent brands are crap, so if the washer can clean here, it wil clean much better with those fabulous detergents in Europe.
And brazilians prefer to use cold water for everything, so if it cleans whites with a terrible detergent and cold water, guess what will happen in Europe.

Sweden is the other country used to complete the development process, because of the cold weather.

yes that WH818 is the machine my nanny had, god i miss that machine she'd probably still have it now if she didn't upgrade the kitchen to all intergrated appliances, she was so happy with that machine, that she got a electrolux EW1200i in its place which is 8 years old this year and still going(barely) she gave the WH818 to my stepmum's mam, on its last day in my nannys house i remember walking into the kitchen and just seeing it sitting there at the wall all on its own and then when the courier came to collect it, i just kept looking at it as it drove out of the garden and thinking would i ever see it again? i did but only once when i went up to the house, there was a lot of people in the room so i only got a quick glimps of it but i could hear it from the sitting room, that lovly purr of the smooth induction motor tumbling away and then spining, then we went back home and i never seen it again.tho i kept getting updates on it from my dad, i was sad in 2006 when he told me the machine packed in, i wasn't really paying attention to wat he was saying until he mention it and i just shouted WHAT! he told me it was leaking from behind the machine she dumped it out in her garden and got a Fagor washer. and for all i know she could probably still have it in her shed cause before she got the electrolux she dumped the SnowCap machine in the garden and it was left there for 2 years!i haven't seen her in a while but next time i se her im going to ask her about it.

By the way that WT252 Dryer was the matching one off the the washing machine my nanny gave that to her aswell sadly that died a year before the washer.

Kyle - its interesting this statement.

Ours always had a silent 5 second or so pause between pressing the on/off button and the machine door locking click and starting to fill with water.

My Mothers Electrolux EW1130F was this generation of Electrolux with the same door and fascia - the next level up with ALC Direct Spray (Jetsystem).
*1000rpm
*Heavy Soil
*Quickwash
*Rinsehold
*Spin Care - reduced spin from 1000rpm to 850rpm
*Variable Temp Dial

We had ours 1992 - 2000 I was aged 8 - 16 so it did most of my junior school stuff and all of my high school uniform lol.
Shame it died months before it got to tackle my Catering College Chef Whites, im sure it would of done a way better job than the Hoover Quattro 1300 AA230.

I have scans of Mums machine itself along with the model your friend has in its brochure along with the full range circa 1992 if you want me to MSN them to you Kyle.
