Hey guys .. Don't know if you remember but some time ago there were a thread here about a new fancy Electrolux washer and dryer in Brazil ( top loader .. Ugh ).
'People' said it was amazing .. They even said it would dry faster than front loaders and it wouldn't destroy the clothes.
A friend of mine bought this piece of junk and uploaded some videos to YouTube .. Here's the prove that this machine is a disaster!

**By the way , I want you to see the last 2 minutes of the video .. You'll probably laugh on how pathetic this is!

Maybe a washer but not a dryer!

I cant believe they would make something like this and say it wont harm the clothes. Makes no sense whats so ever!
I wonder is the washing performance at least decent?

Fascinating!

Reminds me of the Frigidaire patent of the day on the combo washer-dryer that did it all vertically.  I can't imagine it's too good for the machine or the clothes to essentially dry-agitate in the name of fluffing the clothes during the dry cycle.

7 hour cycle time ?

And having to listen to that racket , no thanks . Bad concept poorly designed, You clothes would last like one month lol

SEVEN HOURS? And a 8-Amp motor running the whole time? Who could afford that, even if it DID ultimately work well?

Yes I remember, the 'mondial'/world washer that was supposed to do everything for everyone. And nobody could figure out how a vertical tub could possibly be used as a dryer. Is that it? Well......

Gosh! I'm sure that clothes washed and dryed in there ONCE will be just as ruined (if not more) than clothes washed for a year in a conventional front loading washer-dryer! :O
Unbelievable!

Sounds like for a 7Hr cycle---this is SUPPOSED to save energy? And the way the drum fills up only 1/3 of the way-and the agitation of this machine makes any WP,KN DD machine GENTLE!This machine would be better in the BAKERY than the laundry room-it might do a good job of kneading bread dough-in fact the thing sounds more like a bread machine than a washer.Don't like the idea of the agitator paddling around the dry clothes-guess this was the "dry" cycle?

In the washing category it really is a good machine .. But when it comes to dry clothes it is definitely a disaster .. If it did this with a reasonably small load imagine with the full 7 kg capacity!

I was figuring the rushing sound during the "drying" cycle was the air blown thru the drum.Think the agitation may be more effective and easier on the clothes----if the washer would fill ALL THE WAY up.To heck with the water bit-I want the machine to wash and rinse clothes in the right amount of water. The maker of that washer might as well omit the blades on the barrel of the agitator if the tank is only going to be about 1/3 full.think I will stick with the standard tumble dryer. My OLD BD WP washer does just fine. And its drum fills all the way with WATER!

Oh yes-the plastic "boot" at the top of the washer tub---you will probably have to watch this-and leave the washer top open when not in use-hopefully the "dry" cycle will keep the flexible boot part dry so it won't mildew and stink.the plastic boot seemed quite deep-good place for moisture, lint and gunk to hide.

This nearly made me nauseous... Watching the agitator nearly violently "fluff" the clothes without any water..

I think I would have understood it better if the video had translated subtitles.

I was thinking about this.. Maybe if instead of agitation, they used pulse spins?

Or they could use high speed spins followed by a very stern tub brake, then rotate slowly, high speed spin again then brake... Doing this in opposite directions...

Mmm... Just a thought..

Kudos

Well, it may be a poor design in the long run, but you have to give Electrolux some points for innovation. Perhaps there are improvements to be made with this design or better still, maybe this will lead to a large capacity front loading model that can better handle the wash-n-dry task.

Wonder Why!!

So called experts set around and figure ways to screw up things! All they have to do to make a good washer, Is copy a Norge or Belt Drive Whirlpool EXACTLY! and then you would have something worthy of buying!!
