Might even be less of a shock hazard than a 50s chrome toaster or percolator.
The sink at least seems to be grounded via the water pipe.

Still bizarre. At first when I read the headline I thought of lights in the sink like in a swimming pool, thinking what sense that would possibly make in a sink full of suds.

Again, if you think you`ve seen everything...

I remember the magazine ads for these in the 60s. I like the remote controls on the sink deck for the drains so you did not have to reach down through the water to pull the plug. The center basin held the disposer. I don't know how messy that would be with the way I peel things into the sink. I have the Elkay heavy chrome swivel aerator that I bought in the 80s at a parts distributor that sold Elkay products. It is still in use today.

One of my classmates named Roger lived in a house that had this sink. I was there to a party in 6th grade, which would have been in '66. His dad was a builder, and they had built the house in '64, and it was the fanciest one in the subdivision. They were the ones that had the Frigidaire kitchen in Turquoise, with the separate refrigerator and freezer.
