Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Gary

new internal pipework too!

Can tell you have become rather attached to your new acquisition and all power to your elbow in its restoration.

Oh to have the tinker and repair skills of you, Lee and Mathew - formal master classes please!

Paul

And the end

after all that you get a 20 second spin !!!!, if you want a more intense spin you select the "Spin" program and you get a 4 minute spin.

This short spin is common to all the low temperature prgrammes (thanks again to Mat for his help), whereas the 60o coloured program ahs a 4 minute spin built in, how times and programs have changed

Also this machine and the 3243H keymatic do not "top up" with water once they have filled, admittedly they do take in a lot of water anyway but these two machines are unique in my collection for this

There are still a load of jobs to do on this machine, but i have now gotten itto a stage where it is basically working, it has been the hardest and most trying out of all my machines to get back to running but it is also the most fascinating to use and watch due to its totally mechanical operation

Great work, new air lines and water pipes, fantastic and it’s most rewarding for you seeing the machine work without washing the garage floor as well.

Well I’m obsessive as well; I have tested the water temperature on my machines, by opening the door mid cycle or by placing the thermometer under the flow of the wash pump out so long as the machine dose not have a detergent dilution stage at the end of the wash.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your skills with us.

My advice is tinker at your leasure coz it gets worse the more you learn :-)

Sod the Araldite get some.............EVO STICK!!!!!!!!!!!, or paint the inside of a washing machine tub with Hammerite that made me go very giddy and blurry eyed ;-)........
I wont make jokes about not smoking coz i know how hard it is, and your comments on another thread make absolute sense.....good luck
Ps put chocolate spread on the steering wheel it tastes nicer

Paul
Just tinnker matey, all the machines we collect are mass produced so therefore they have to go together quickly and easily, aside a few special tools you might need (a 5Lb club Hammer is my favourite) they are logically assembled and come apart easily.

There endeth my one and only lesson

Hi James.

Due to being a bit unsure as to the behaviour of my car, i postponed collection to this coming Saturday - fingers crossed!

Great Stuff...

Good you`ve really gotten to grips with this big bertha havnt you!!!...at least you have stuff that you can sort on yours...the one I picked up from Swansea had been looked after well (internally / mechanically) by the previous owner, new belts, boots pipes etc...but had suffered rusting from the tub / motor mount bracket...its currently having a patch and arc weld done by Mark etc along with the clutch overhauled...then all I need is to buy shares in Halfords Paints etc...Lol

It was good to hear it spin for the first time, soooo quiet!!! and straight up there no faffing about!!

Happy Washing, Mike

p.s. what is it with those pressure pots & piping, had a call from Dad on sat morn to say the quartz had overfilled & flooded the kitchen...so whipped the back off & diagnosed cracks in the hose to pressure switch, which had just enough slack to cut and stick back on to the pot, and also the pipe from the pressure pot to tub had a pinhole of wear in it, course everything in storage so managed to get to the local aquarium shop and nab some rather funky dayglow green piping for the tub connection...all working fine and half load level now working a treat!!! Oh Classic machines!!!

Start - Stop button.

Dont you just love modern technology, everything removed from the operators hands........a computer decides if it will work or not..........

I’m just glad it can’t talk, it tells me off at lest twice a day with messages on the dash, You haven’t put the break on, you haven’t done your seat belt, you have left the keys in do want some chave to steal me, I have told you the washer bottle is empty two days ago and now you cants see can you, I need servicing in one week, and on and on and on. Christ it’s like an electronic back seat driver.
