Not sure the whole story, but my brother-in-laws mothers estate was up for sale and they called me if I was interest in 2 machines, So I ran over there at 90 miles an hour, and this is what I got for $60.00......

This was given to her by her mother-in-law for a housewarming gift, they didn't get along, and she wouldn't use it, so it sat in the corner since delivery, the kids took out the shipping ring and hooked it up, it works, never been used, what do you think?

Maytag...center dial...A107...014584US...the drain hose was cut off to use on the other one.....books and all....

the Maytag has 3 water levels...small, medium, and "normal"...shame...a few days earlier and I could have been the one to unpack it and hook it up...

the house reminds me of Roberts, all vintage from the 50/60's, pank ceramic tile kitchen and bath, gold sculpted carpet and drapes, furniture and tv's from way back...

the whirlpool has only one preset water level

wow

That is awsume, you are so lucky to aquire a brand new maytag AND a Whirlpool for only 60 bucks. The whirlpool looks almost new to.

I was hopeing someone could tell me the years of these machines.... I was in the house around 1975, and only remember the whirlpool in the basement, and nothing else but a workbench for what I could see from the bottom of the stairs, the maytag was hidden in the heater room, puzzled about the story behind this, because the whirlpool was bought by her to use instead of the gift, and they don't look like from the same years, so to speak, unless they already had the washer from the previous home, who knows, alls I know is I have 2 new items added to my collection, and yeah, wish I got a brand new machine for my house warming, I would have been tickled pink...but none the less, mine now!...I'm excited to do some loads, but hate to get it dirty, what would a plexiglass box cost?.....I'll calm down later, right now I'm still "BEAMING".....

also, for the magic mix dispenser filter hose that had a leak, I replaced it with a dishwasher drain hose I got from Lowes for $8.00, came with the elbow molded into the end, 6 foot long, more than I needed, but allowed me to re-route the hose along the top inside and down the back of the machine, this way when I have to open the top, I don't have to disconnect the hose every time, makes you wonder why whirlpool never did this!!!...just some food for thought!

I agree

Even if I didn't like my moter in law, if she gave me a washer for a housewarming Id be tickled too...Im thinking the Whipool is from around 71 but I can't be sure, mabe she got the Whirly used or something just to spite hubby's mother lol.
