Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

back of caddy

With the converter installed, the hose stored neatly on the back of the tool caddy...
Tool suction on these older models was ok, but put these to work on a Sanitaire and WOW it will suck your face off!

Veg.. I don't have a Floor a matic LOL

Jeff..great pics of the tools and accessories, somehow I can't see many people buying it though. It looks so cumbersome and awkward to setup. I noticed on these Eureka uprights you cant tilt them too far back on the rear wheels to move them about either

Wheels

Pete,
Eureka enlarged their rear wheels for their new models in 1972, such as on the gold model.
Note the rear wheels on the Sanitaire, makes moving those about very easy!

veg forget how read...

EDIT:

Jeff!

You and I have the same Hoover Floor-A-Matic. We'll have to get together for a Scrub-In!

veg

Pete!
You need to get a Floor-A-Matic like I've got. Then we can get together for a Scrub-In!

Right now I'm seeing more and more GE and Hoover floor polishers showing up, don't need one of those.. or should I say I have no use for one of those.
Today I snagged a Hoover Portapower QS quiet series with hose and wands, missing any end attachments, in good shape, not as quiet as I thought it would be, but hey for $5 who am I to complain.

Veg: I have two of those FAM's... the oen in the pics is for display, and I have a new FLOORMAX version that I use. Awesome machine for bare floors!

Congrats on the Porta-Power Pete, nice machine!

New Eureka

Pete,
Beautiful new vintage Eureka you have there!! And I think those models gave Hoover a good run for the money at the time. You are going to have a great time cleaning with it and it will go a great job.

The vibra-groomer agitator that Jeff described and photographed shows how well designed they are. You can really feel the floor vibrating when using one.

Here is a pic of mine that Jeff sent me after I sent him a Hoover 27. I had a green model, (model number unknown), that I used in the VCCC cleaning contest last year in Chicago. Jeff's beat mine and mine went to live with another club member. Since it was the only "box top" model I had, Jeff came to the rescue with this 2-speed model 2074.

Thanks Jeff!

Sibling rivarlry

Well, older sis here started getting her feelings hurt that she would not getting equal time, so here she is in her inflated glory and still cleaning just fine from the 1920s.

More great pics of vintage machines. Have you guys had to do any paint retouching etc to get them back to showroom condition or did you luck out and find them unscathed? I know that's not impossible, that Watermatic I got is almost flawless for its age.

Now, how did I do today? Well I found a Hoover QuickBroom, brown and yellow, pretty good shape and working fine for $5.00. As well there was an older Filter Queen working fine but needing some TLC, I passed on it reluctantly because I didn't want to spend $35 for it. There was no power nozzle and it appeared there was a plug in for one on the motor unit itself. Now that I'm home I'm thinking,, oh just go get it, polish it up and resell it...dunno.

That Eureka 1920's model resembles todays Royals-Actually this is a BETTER design than the Vertical motor design used later-and notice the "Side Fill" on the intake to the bag-That design would give a efficient design in that the dirt is pushed to the side in stead of the airstream blowing thru it.-as in center intake designs.Eureka should "resserect" this design. It could be modified to use a side-fill paper or Filtrete bag!The fill design on my Sebo is sort of like the Eureka.
